The Macclesfield congregation will be holding their weekly ‘Tao on Tuesday’ meditations on Zoom and members of the Chorlton congregation are welcome to attend. The joining details are below:

Join the Macclesfield congregation for our meditation on the Tao Te Ching. We read a short passage, enjoy a time of shared silence for meditation and then share our reflections on the text. All welcome.

Hilary Bichovsky will lead us in exploring the Plum Village (Thich Nhat Hanh’s community) approach to meditation and mindfulness. We are currently working with the meditations from Tich Nhat Hahn’s book ‘ Living Buddha, Living Christ. All welcome.

Wednesday 16th December 7:00 – 8:15 pm Heart and Soul (Zoom only)
Heart and Soul is a contemplative spiritual gathering in which you can take time to reflect on life in the company of others. Each session follows a regular pattern, including readings and music, time for guided prayers of gratitude, compassion for others, self-reflection, and silent meditation. This week’s theme is ‘Belonging’, Led by Laura Dobson. All welcome.

Sunday 20th December 10.30 – 11:30 am Sunday Gathering (In Chorlton Unitarian Church and on Zoom). Join us to celebrate ‘the Spirit of Christmas’, with Christmas Carols, led by Tom Grimshaw. All welcome.
Usually, at this time, our offerings are sent to the Send a Child to Hucklow Fund. This is a Trust who arranges and administers holidays at the Nightingale Centre, Great Hucklow for disadvantaged children. Donations can be sent to Ruth Taylor, Donations Treasurer, 10 Heald Grove, Heald Green, Cheadle, SK8 3RX, or via the Chorlton Unitarian Church Bank account quoting reference SACH. This gathering will be in the church building and on Zoom. There are 14 places in the church.

Note that due to the number of contributors to the service, there are very limited spaces remaining to attend the church this Sunday. Places will be reserved on a ‘first come first served basis’, so please book early.
Monday 21st December, 7:00 – 8:15 pm – Yule / Winter Solstice celebration, led by the Unitarian Earth Spirit Network – on Zoom
Join our informal gathering to celebrate Yule, the festival of reflection and renewal. At this time we pause and listen to our inner wisdom in the stillness, becoming aware of the seeds of our future growth waiting for birth. We welcome the rebirth of the sun at the winter solstice, seeking renewal in our lives by honouring the darkness and the return of the light within.
We will enjoy seasonal music, poetry, and meditation. You will also be invited to share, in small groups, the things you are grateful for and your intentions for the new year. Please also feel free to bring poems, songs, stories or other offerings to share. All welcome.
