Dear MDA, Many Unitarians are deeply concerned about the Climate Emergency. As evidence and consequences mount up, the need to respond grows more urgent. This is often coupled with a dispiriting sense of overwhelm, that we are too late in tackling this issue. The gravity and enormity has been captured in Maria Curtis’s book “Cherishing the Earth – Nourishing the Spirit” (Lindsey Press, 2023). A collection of essays presenting varied reactions to the climate emergency (including on by Rev’d Dr Ann Peart), the book serves as a helpful launchpad to congregational and wider discussions. Cross Street Chapel will begin its conversation on Sunday 24 September at 12:30. We aim to use Maria’s book to explore our response to the Climate Emergency. This will include discussions on inidividual and collective responses, locally, nationally and internationally. |
You are all very welcome to attend this first meeting. No previous knowledge or a particular viewpoint are needed other than a deep concern about the planet. With care, Cody Coyne |
