Climate Change at Cross Street Chapel
Many Unitarians are deeply concerned about the Climate Emergency. As evidence and consequences mount up, the need to respond grows more urgent. This is often coupled with a dispiriting sense of overwhelm, that we are too late in tackling this issue.
The gravity and enormity has been captured in Maria Curtis’s book “Cherishing the Earth – Nourishing the Spirit” (Lindsey Press, 2023). A collection of essays presenting varied reactions to the climate emergency (including on by Rev’d Dr Ann Peart), the book serves as a helpful launchpad to congregational and wider discussions.
Cross Street Chapel will begin its conversation on Sunday 24 September at 12:30. We aim to use Maria’s book to explore our response to the Climate Emergency. This will include discussions on inidividual and collective responses, locally, nationally and internationally.
You are all very welcome to attend this first meeting. No previous knowledge or a particular viewpoint are needed other than a deep concern about the planet.
