Baptists Meet Judaism (Livestream)

Baptists Meet Judaism (Livestream)

Dear friends,

Tune in to YouTube this Monday night at 7.00 p.m. for an important lecture in Manchester on Baptists and Judaism by Revd Robert Parkinson, Minister of Didsbury Baptist Church, and Associate Tutor with Northern Baptist College.

The 2020 Whitley Lecture, “Finding A Friend”, is about the Baptist Encounter with Judaism. This lecture will ask where British Baptists stand in relation to the recent sea change in Christian-Jewish relations. It will identify potential problems in the theology, exegesis and preaching of Baptists. It will offer examples of friendly engagement between Baptists and Jews, examine possible impediments to the development of a closer relationship, and propose constructive suggestions for deepening the encounter of Baptists with Judaism into the future.

The lecture will come from Luther King House in Rusholme – and is backed by the House in conjunction with Scottish Baptists and Baptists Together.

Robert has been a keen supporter of Manchester CCJ for many years – and often attends our meetings.

Once delivered, a recording of this lecture will remain on the link for you to watch later, if you can’t see it at the time that Robert will be speaking.

Warm regards,

Co-chair,
