Youth Group Leaders Wanted!

youth group leaders wanted!

Hi RE Colleagues,

I’m reaching out with a request: We’re looking for 2-3 youth group advisors/leaders to help us brainstorm ideas for next year’s youth group packets. We love your recommendations and/or for you to pass on this request to youth leaders you think might be interested.

Here are the details:

Goals (Team Deliverables): The team will work together to identify youth group activities, games, reflection ideas and centerings for each of our ten 2021-22 themes. In short, we’re asking each youth group leader to share 15-20 of the most successful activities they’ve done with their youth groups.

Time Period & Commitment: This is a short-term, time-limited team, with the work being done in early to mid-July. We will meet once for an hour-long planning meeting, followed by a week or two of work on our own, ending with a final 2 hour meeting to share and organize our ideas.

Experience Needed: While not required, successful team members will likely…

·      have experience leading and/or designing youth group programming in a UU setting,

·      have a commitment to experiential based learning,

·      have some experience engaging youth in ARAOMC (anti-racism, anti-oppression, multicultural) work,

·      be from a congregation using Soul Matters material of some kind.

People with disabilities, people of color, indigenous people, Hispanic/Latinx, and LGBTQ candidates are encouraged to apply.

Compensation: Each team member will receive $150.

How to Apply & Deadline: By May 30, send an email to me (soulmattersre@gmail.com) with a brief (2-3 paragraphs) note about why you are interested and the experience you bring. Feel free to keep it simple.

Questions: Feel free to reach out to me with any questions!   (soulmattersre@gmail.com)

Thanks in advance for helping us with this!

With excitement,

Katie
