Chorlton Unitarians Zoom Gatherings
On Tuesday 7th April at 7.30 pm you are invited to join Sheila Cass and Sue Cockerill for our final Lent meditation using the practice of Lectio Divina, a form of contemplation from the Christian tradition involving reading and reflecting on a piece of scripture. We will use poetry rather than scripture to bring us into a contemplative space. Come and explore your own reflective process as we deepen into silence together. All welcome.
On Friday 10th April at 7 pm you are invited to join Sue Cockerill for a Tenebrae service. The Tenebrae (Latin for “shadows” or “darkness”) service of Good Friday represents the sombre nature of the events of the crucifixion. Holy Week holds all the glorious, messy humanity of the world within its story. This service offers us an opportunity to explore our own shadow with the intention of finding insight. Join us to find out what insight it offers you. If you can, please have nine candles or tea lights with you for the service. All welcome.
On Sunday 12th April at 10.30 am Julie Wolstenholme will lead our Easter Sunday service. All welcome.

The annual meetings of the General Assembly of the Unitarian and Free Christian Churches were due to be held next week in Birmingham. As we are unable to gather in person, an online programme for spiritual connection has been developed instead and is available to view at https://www.unitarian.org.uk/beingtogether
On Wednesday 8th April at 8 am I will be starting the day with a meditation on the words and music of St Hildegard of Bingen. All welcome.

On Thursday 9th April at 1 pm Tony McNeile and I will lead the Earth Spirit Network workshop. We will be exploring ‘Circles of Three’ as a basis of our spiritual relationship with the natural world and the eight festivals festivals that mark the yearly cycle. The workshop will begin with an introduction to the network and the wheel of the year. We will explore ways to connect with nature when we are unable to be outside, ways to connect with each other, and we will end with a meditation. All welcome.
